springtime
when the first patch of green
has appeared on your frontporch
and the birds in the forrests sing:
springtime is near!
when the green in the trees show that
juices are rising
then you should be rising too
                                      go outside feel the breeze
leave a note on your windowsill
for spring to bring you new love
                                      go outside smell the breeze
put that note in the window
for springtime will bring new love
when the last love you recall
has been five or eleven years
ago and the last kissing
got stuck in remembrance
when you cannot remember
what it's like when
those butterflies in your belly fly –
just go out and go for it
as you leave put a note
with a wish on your windowsill
for springtime to bring you new love
wipe the dust off your heart
put an add on your forehead
                                     big letters saying L-O-V-E, love!!
when the first patch of green
has appeared on your frontporch
and the birds in the forrests sing:
springtime is here!
when you cannot remember
what it's like to be kissing
you should go out and go for it
so get up to the crack of dawn
put a white flag in the window
and surrender to spring and to love
put your heart on your sleave,
put an add on your forehead, says:
I’m looking for new love! Ahu-hu!
